Meet my ride•or•dies

Four motorcyclists in gear standing next to their bikes during sunset, with one talking to another.

As much as I love riding solo and wandering like a lone wolf, one thing that sets my soul on fire and fills my tank, is getting together with some pretty special, genuine, passionate, and bloody-awesome-at-their-craft rockstars to make work feel like play. We work together and we have a blast together!

This is exactly what happened with this pack of rad humans who are riding with me as loyal partners in my Driftwood journey. Together we laugh, joke, get messy, work hard, and freely drop F-bombs. I know they got my back. They cheer me on, motivate me, wish me well, and keep me in check.

Let me tell you about them and how they made this possible.

OK, here we go:
meet Azalea, Dave, and Jacq!

I blame these 3 for having turned my wildest dreams and vision about Driftwood into reality, giving it a clear and unique style, a carefully crafted look and feel, and a powerful voice.

A woman with long brown hair wearing a wide-brimmed hat, smiling outdoors in a sunny park with trees and a walkway in the background.

Thank you Azalea!

She’s “one of the wilder ones, all about living wildly, loving deeply & creating daily” and she’s “in the business of unleashing people”. That was it for me!

She’s a genius at helping heart-centered, passionate, and creative humans craft their lives, art, relationships, adventures, homes, businesses, brands, and websites to reflect their truest expressions. And what a creative genius she is!

She’s been on this ride with me the longest. From the moment I decided to set off on this adventure with nothing but a wild idea, Azalea has been part of it. She saw me on fire, stalling, laughing, freaking out, getting lost and doubtful, moving ahead at full speed, and everything in between.

She unleashed the Driftwood’s soul that lived within me and distilled its essence, turning it into what it looks like today. The best part? She made the process fun, magic, surprising, and a constant learning experience for me!

Thank you Davy!

This dude is fucking cool.

He’s “an adventure and nature photographer who makes image capture a possibility on land, air, and over or underwater. He’s also an expedition sailor, the co-founder of an adventure cruise company, a licensed diver and ship captain, an experienced skydiver, a drone operator, and a marine photographer”.

He doesn’t know this (yet!): I came across one of his pictures on IG by total chance, through an old re-post by Dominc Purcell (it couldn’t get any more random!), and that’s when, just like magic, something sparked inside of me and I literally heard the name “Driftwood” in my head and felt it like fire in my guts — and it all came together for me and made total sense that this would be my business name.

Pretty much every extraordinary image you see on this website is his. Nothing out there (and believe me, I searched far and wide) represents the spirit and values of Driftwood like Dave’s images do. To me, he’s what I’d describe as a ride-or-die, salt-of-the-earth, adventurous lone wolf with a huge heart and a purpose in life.

Thank you Jacq!

If Azalea and Dave gifted Driftwood its looks, it is Jacq who gifted it its voice!

Every word you read has either been written by Jacq or it’s been “Jacq-ified” (*yes, that’s an actual thing!) until it sounded just like Driftwood does in my head and until it conveys exactly the message I wanted, with the energy I imagined it should convey.

She’ll tell you she’s “an author, communications consultant, podcast host, and the founder of The Intuitive Writing School.”

She helps creatives move past writer’s block and perfectionism so they can finish their important work, and she supports business owners in finding their authentic voice so they can make an impact on the world.

Fuck yea!

She’s been rock solid with every piece of copy we worked on, even when I wasn’t at the top of my game. She’d offer guidance and advice, push back, and sometimes kick my ass.

Now, did you ever think of law AND WEBSITE DESIGN as even remotely fun or simple? Yeah, me neither.

Then I met Cory, his team and Shelagh… you’re in for a real treat.

Thank you Cory & Team!

Cory is this easy-going, down-to-earth, amazing, soulful, kind-hearted human. I never know where in the world he’ll answer my call from. But what I do know, is that he’ll be on time, well-prepared, and ready to help any way he can. He’ll also be barefoot, probably shirtless and with a smile larger than life.

Oh yes, he’s a lawyer too, and he runs Conscious Counsel, his own law firm, as a digital nomad making law totally fun and finally simple and easy to understand.

Cory and his team “provide legal counsel for creative, ambitious and heart-leading business owners who build communities and make the world a better and healthier place. They value life before our work. This free-spirited mentality allows them to be relatable, passionate and forward-thinking when building strong relationships with our clients.”

They never used a word of legal jargon or sent me a document I needed a translator for. They made sure I’m legally covered and protected in the most professional, caring, and fun way.

Read my T&Cs, Privacy Policy, and agreements for a pleasant surprise.

THANK YOU SHELAGH!

Shelagh feels like a “fairy godmother for the 21st Century” and, whether she’s wearing her Squarespace designer, mentor, or rest facilitator hat, she’s “passionate about helping women in midlife and beyond share their gifts and build businesses that feel spacious, authentic, and alive.”

And when I felt it was time to build Driftwood a new, online home, she felt like a clear “Hell yes!”

No matter the project, partnering with Shelagh is always such a joy. She has such a delightful way of creating and holding our container and the work we do in it. It feels spacious, permissive, and authentic. With Shelagh in my corner, I truly feel my circle expanded with a modern-day, tech-savvy fairy godmother with practical business tools up one of her sleeves and magic up the other. She shares her wisdom from her heart in ways that feel generous and abundant.

Whether it's mentoring, website, or strategy sessions, her presence feels expansive, safe, and nourishing. Her guidance always makes me feel seen, held, and celebrated in every way!

Woman with short gray hair, glasses, and earrings, sitting on the ground against a red wooden wall, smiling. She wears a pink jacket, black shirt, blue jeans, and green boots.

I feel Driftwood is my nature.

It’s always been within me.

And while it’s been crackling, morphing, brewing, and aging with me all this time,
it became a real thought and a life project in 2017 during my work with Ella...

Thank you Ella!

Ella had me at “shenanigans,” and she’s loyally been riding with me on my journey to freedompreneurship (like she calls it), first as my coach, and now in my circle, before I even knew what I wanted to do or why.

She imagines “a world where every person feels cherished and championed to unleash their genius, so that it delights and frees the world.” And that’s precisely how I feel she impacted me.

Ella is the first person who heard me claim “lone wolves,” “fire within,” and “unleash” as my calling in my freedom declaration, with tears in my eyes and goosebumps all over. She knows my dragons, sparked most of my a-ha moments, and witnessed my transformation — whether it’s a huge, heavy topic to process or a crazy, ROFL, girlfriends chat, or brainstorming domain names — she’s 100% present, pure rock-solid, kick-ass, joy-sparking, grade A friendship material.

And to everyone else in my corner, non stop or on and off, since ever or just recently, fanning my flames in my personal sphere, as a friend, family or as a coach, through this crazy, wild ride, believing in me even when I didn't and demanding that I play big and stop hiding…

THANK YOU!
